CPR Tips and Myths
CPR Tips and Myths is a great general knowledge source to help people understand some basic guidelines about CPR.
Topics on CPR facts can make a real difference in everyday life because cardiac emergencies often happen at home, at work, or in public places before medical professionals can arrive. CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is a way to help keep blood and oxygen moving through the body when a person’s heart has stopped or they are not breathing normally. For families, co-workers, and all adults, simply understanding the basics can increase confidence and make people more likely to step in during an emergency.
One of the most important CPR facts is that immediate action matters. When the heart stops, every minute without help lowers the chance of survival. Calling emergency services right away and starting CPR as soon as possible can help buy precious time until paramedics arrive. Many people think they must be experts before ....Read more....

A new joint guideline on cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome establishes a 4-stage classification system and provides recommendations for prevention and management.
On June 9, 2026, the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA), American Diabetes Association (ADA), and American Society of Nephrology (ASN) issued the first-ever guideline on the prevention and management of cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome in both Circulation and The Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

The Power to Save a Life is in Your Hands. If someone collapsed in front of you, would you know what to do?
For many people, the answer is no, not because they don’t care, but because they believe CPR is only for trained professionals. During CPR and AED Awareness Week (June 1-7), the American Heart Association is working to change that belief and remind communities that lifesaving action starts with everyday people. The Heart Association seeks the help of the Training Network to spread awareness about this year's CPR Week message, In Your Hands, which puts the focus on where it belongs.
